Member discount on selected education courses

15% member discount is available on these selected courses only (classroom and online): Day Skipper, Boatmaster, Maritime VHF Operator Certificate, Inboard Engine Maintenance, Outboard Engine Maintenance, GPS Operator and Radar Operator. Discount excludes RYA courses, practical tuition and seminars. Discount applicable for current, active Coastguard members only. Cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.


Lifejacket hire

ResponsibilityThe hirer agrees to wear the life jacket in the approved safe manner. Coastguard representatives can show you how to wear them safely and properly before hire commences. The lifejacket will be safely and carefully stored when it's not being worn. Coastguard accepts no responsibility for the use and efficiency of the equipment.

OwnershipThe life jacket remains the property of Coastguard Northern Region Inc. at all times.

Hireage fees: The full fee will be paid prior to uplifting the lifejacket, together with a refundable bond. The bond will be returned to the hirer in part or in full depending on the condition of the life jacket at the time of returne. any damages or cleaning charges will be paid for at the time of return.

Returns: The hirer will return the lifejacket to the place of hire promptly on completion of the rental period. The jacket must be clean and dry; if used in salt water, it must be rinsed and dried thoroughly.

Coastguard Santa Swim - prize draw

If you enter the Santa Swim before Friday 20th October, 2017, you'll go in the draw to win one of two unique Coastguard experiences for 4 people, including a tour of the Auckland Marine Rescue Centre & a trip in the Waitemata Harbour aboard a Coastguard Vessel. By entering, please note the following terms:

  • 1 experience available for each swim event
  • Winners will be drawn on Monday 23rd October
  • Date of the Coastguard experience will be at a time that suits both the winner & Coastguard Northern Region
  • This prize is not suitable for children under 2 years of age
  • Children can only attend in the company of a parent or guardian
  • Attendees will be required to sign a waiver, and abide by all applicable instructions from Coastguard crew.
