Thank you for your interest in Coastguard Northern Region and welcome to our website. Here we aim to share what we are about – our mission, who ‘we’ are and the services we offer to all who enjoy our many waterways and our members.
Coastguard Northern Region is one of four regional bodies that supports local Coastguard units in the pursuit of our mission – Saving Lives at Sea.
"Collectively we achieve our mission by providing rescue, education and communications services and by seeking to set an example or ‘walk the talk’ in the way that we prepare for, and conduct ourselves when we are on the water."
Coastguard is a charity which only survives through the support and goodwill of its funders and members. We provide member services, such as 24 hour/day recovery, discounted education courses and promotional offers through our sponsors and other partners as well as member communications that keep you ‘in the loop’ on Coastguard and marine issues. Membership is important to us, because we believe that it helps prepare boat owners to be safe on the water and supports our free rescue service wherever and whenever we are needed.
Last year Coastguard Northern Region volunteers gave more than 140,000 hours of their time to safeguarding lives at sea and brought more than 4,600 people home to safety. By joining Coastguard you can play a role alongside our volunteers and be safe in the knowledge that if you need recovery Coastguard will be there.
Thank you and wishing you safe and enjoyable boating,
Chief Executive Officer
