The Operator’s qualification – A  MVOQ  qualification and a call sign is a legal requirement for all persons who wish to use Marine VHF  except for those using one in emergency situations only.  (Call sign available at the course).

The Radio Handbook is issued free at the course.

The Ministry’s RRTOC course, and the yearly licence fee are still compulsory for Commercial vessels and those carrying Single Sideband sets.
