Northland Air Patrol

Northland Coastguard Air Patrol is one of the Air Patrol units in the Northern Region.  Based at the Kerikeri airfield they can cover from Whangarei up to Cape Reinga, providing aerial assistance and often speeding up the search process.

The Air Patrol unit fills a vital role in search and rescue incidents by enabling the crew to scan a large area quickly, then directing the rescue vessel, effectively the "eye in the sky" for Northland.  As with all Coastguard units, their crew are on pager callout 24/7, and can be airborne within 45 minutes.
