Intro Boating Package

     Day Skipper

An introductory course for all members of the family, including those new to boating. Covers a range of vessels including yachts, launches, powerboats, jet skis, sea kayaks and waka.

    Marine VHF Radio Operator

The minimum requirement for all users of Marine VHF radio. Covers correct VHF radio operations, enables you to operate VHF radio with confidence.

RYA Powerboat Level One

A one day course that is ideal for people completely new to boating. It gives you a general introduction and confidence with safe boat handling.

Inshore Boating Package

    Boatmaster

A comprehensive course for boaties with some existing knowledge and experience.

Powerboat Level Two

A comprehensive two day course covering all practical skills and background knowledge enabling you to be a capable powerboat driver. This course is ideal for beginners wanting to take the next step in becoming practical powerboat drives, or by those who wish to fine tune or freshen up on their current skills.

Coastal Boating Packages

     Coastal Skipper

An advanced course covering the principles and practice of coastal navigation, the understanding of the causes and effects of coastal weather, passage planning and seamanship relevant to those wishing to undertake coastal voyages. Boatmaster, VHF Radio Operator and 200 hours sea time are needed before certification can be issued.

RYA Powerboat Intermediate

A boating course covering pilotage and passage planning by day on coastal waters using traditional and electronic navigation techniques. Candidates must have RYA Level 2 certification.

Terms and Conditions

1.     The three packages are only available for classroom and practical courses that are run by the Coastguard Northern Region Maritime School.

2.     The packages must be booked before the 31st of May 2010.

3.     The packages cannot be exchanged for cash.

4.     The Coastguard Northern Region Maritime School will contact those who book the Boating Education Packages to arrange the places on the required courses booked as part of the package.
